A man jumped two women walking near Freeway Park late Monday night, stealing one of the victim’s purse, according to a report on the incident released by SPD.

According to the report, the women were walking along Hubbell from Pike when they noticed somebody walking behind them. As the man walked past, he suddenly turned on the path and stopped directly in front of one woman and shouted, “Give me your money!” the victims told police. “I don’t have any money,” the woman said she replied. The man then reached into her jacket pocket and grabbed the woman’s clutch before running from the scene northbound on Hubbell.

The women told police the suspect was a Hispanic male, 30 to 35 years old, 5’10”, 150 pounds, with shoulder length black hair and wearing a baseball hat and dark jacket at the time of the mugging.

A search of the area including Freeway Park did not turn up the suspect.
