Traffic was being routed off 10th Ave E this afternoon between Miller and Boston after a car flipped in a crash just after 12:20 PM. According to police radio reports, there were no significant injuries and all the occupants were able to safely exit the vehicle. We’re checking with Seattle Fire to confirm.
No details yet on what caused the crash. According to a police radio report, the overturned car struck the parked pick-up truck visible in the photo.
Thanks to @denicetown, @iamuhura for information about the crash and @chriscarter_88 for the picture from the scene.
We happened to be driving by shortly after it happened, just as the first police car arrived on the scene. There was clearly no one in the car, and there were one or two guys walking around nearby on the sidewalk (don’t know if only one or both had been in the car); we didn’t see anyone in the vicinity who even appeared injured.
Seems like that drunk driver also flipped his car, right? I’m just trying to figure out how that’s possible unless you’re going more than 40 miles an hour…
I don’t understand how you can flip a car in a city full of timid, wimped out drivers who get heart palpitations when they drive over 20 mph.
……by not being one of them?
Even if you’re not one, their incompetently driven Volvos form effective “rolling roadblocks” that require you too to drive like you’re 90 years old and half blind.
So how do you get up the speed needed to flip a vehicle?
