There’s pretty much only one reaction to this one. Go ahead and ask because, yes, we think she must have been high, too. A woman contacted by SPD at the corner of 10th and Pine in the middle of the hustle of a Saturday night in Pike/Pine agreed to let a cop search her car after the officer observed her engage in a “hand-to-hand” transaction with two “known narcotics users.” Inside the car, the SPD officer found around $3,000 in meth, heroin and coke in two different formats — crack and powder:
On June 18th, just after 8:00 PM, an East Precinct officer was on patrol near 10th Avenue and Pine Street when he observed two known narcotics users. The officer watched them for some time and noted that they went to speak to a woman sitting in a car in a parking lot. The officer watched as the two people engaged in a hand-to-hand transaction with the woman in the car. He then contacted the three individuals. One of the individuals had a warrant for his arrest.
More significantly, the officer spoke to the woman in the car who agreed to a consent search of her vehicle. The officer recovered over 17 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 15 grams of heroin, 1 gram of powder cocaine, and a small amount of crack cocaine. The 43 year old female was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for drug charges.
Now let the debate over the actual value of the East Precinct drug haul begin.
