CHS Pics: Slutwalk Seattle takes to Capitol Hill’s streets — Plus, Pride Picnic fun

Sunday was a day of balloons and hamburger picnics, protests and counter-protests, and relaxing in Volunteer Park and marching on E Pine. Here are images from the Pride Picnic in Volunteer Park and the 600-strong crowd that gathered on Bobby Morris playfield to march in the day’s rape and sexual assault awareness event, Slutwalk Seattle. Expected protests from the Westboro Baptist Church fizzled at Volunteer Park where a crowd of nearly 150 waited to counter the group’s anti-gay messages. Meanwhile, Slutwalk marched from Capitol Hill to Westlake without incident — and with lots of cheering — on the Capitol Hill portion of the march. If you see a great picture from the weekend on Flickr, Twitter of Facebook, let us know. We’ll add some shots from the crowd to this post.
