Bluebird rolls out a custom Block Party-inspired coffee+stout Battles ice cream flavor.

Bluebird is teaming up with one of Capitol Hill Block Party‘s 2011 headlining bands, BATTLES for a custom ice cream flavor. BATTLES has always been a staple on Bluebird’s speakers, so when we found out that the first single off their new album is titled “Ice Cream” (vinyl available in 3 flavors) we knew we had to get together. Turns out some of their crew has strolled along Pike Street before, and has even been to Bluebird. They figured that since they’re playing a block party right outside our shop, a neighborhood flavor would be in order. Straight from the mind of the band, BATTLES will be a coffee stout ice cream, with coffee fromCaffé Vita, and stout from Elysian. Of course, the band will be in-store the day of the show, and we’ll be hanging out, listening to the new album. So come say “what’s up,” and try a scoop.

  • Broadway’s TidBit Bistro is planning “a 3-day day&night Happy Hour with $1 wines, $3 wells and $3-5 tapas.” 12th Ave’s Lark is also planning a special menu for the weekend in conjunction with the Party.

From the same designers Epic Mansion Party (circa February 2010) we have the makings here to be the most epic garage sale you’ve ever laid your eyes in. Sure you’ve been to a garage sale before; but never a Epic Mansion Yard Sale.

But you ask, what could I possibly want to buy? I’m going to break it down for you:
Bookcases, books to snowboards, space heaters, electronics (22″ LCDs,), file cabinet, bookcase, laser printer, digital camera, magazine rack, lights, patio furniture, dresser, 4×6′ white board, DVDs, motorcycle center stand, motorcycle battery, mini fridge, air conditioner, 21″ Giant XTC SE II Mountain Bike, 64cm Gold Univega Road Bike in GREAT condition, digital photo frames, furniture (futons, lights), cookware enough clothes to clothe you and all of your close friends. Plus we’ll have MUSIC and a WHITE PERSON ATTEMPTING TO BE A DEE-JAY.

You might be asking who’s sh*t is this? i will break that down for you: Your two hosts for this gala are Emily and David. Why do they need your money for their things? They’ll tell you, IN THEIR OWN INTERNET WRITTEN WORDS:

Emily says, “Okay, guys. As most of you guys know, I’m about to travel, starting in two weeks on 8/2, I’ll be having a goodbye shindig, but first I must rid myself of EVERYTHING I OWN! And that goes for a few other fine folk too.”

David says, “I’m going to be riding from Seattle => South America on a one year motorcycle starting the end of August; and everything must go! Your purchases help me buy tacos.”

So please, for the love of all that is good and holy, BUY OUR STUFF! And if you can’t buy things, send your mother, grandmother, best friends, complete strangers, enemies, WE DON’T CARE. Just tell people who need things, which is everyone. Everyone needs things. Duh!

Definitely not the only Victorian house on the block. I live on that block and my house is Victorian as well. Don’t get mixed up, people!
