A man suspected in an April bank robbery in downtown Seattle and wanted by the state of Florida where he faces charges on 36 cases of possession of child pornography was captured Wednesday night as he allegedly fled a Madison bank hold-up.
William Morris was booked into jail for investigation of robbery and the Florida warrant after he was surrounded by cop cars and arrested near Boren and University Wednesday night after the 5p bank hold-up.
According to Q13 Fox, Morris has done time for child porn in the past and has also been arrested for assault and battery on a police officer.
According to SPD, the suspect in Wednesday night’s hold-up in the 1200 block of Madison Street implied he had a gun and fled the bank with cash. Arriving officers located and arrested the suspect leaving the area northbound on Boren Avenue. At the time of arrest, SPD says, the suspect was still in possession of the stolen cash.

The arrest happened right in front of my apartment building. I think he had tried to escape via a Metro bus as there were 8 to 10 police cars surrounding the bus on Boren. They had already arrested Morris when I looked out to see what was going on, but the doors of the bus were open and officers were going in and out of it. Who robs a bank and then uses Metro as your getaway car?
Morris didn’t have the beard from the photo and had lightened his hair quite a bit. He didn’t seem to be making much of a struggle–just handcuffed and leaning against the patrol car. I had wondered why there had been such a big police response. I guess a bank robbery would explain that.
