Man robbed near bus stop across from Seattle U

A man told police he was robbed as he got off the bus across from Seattle University at 12th and Spring Monday night.

According to the victim, he had exited the bus just before 10p Monday when he felt somebody walk up behind him and push something sharp against his back. Another man then approached him from the front and the two men proceeded to rifle through his pockets and rob him. The duo then knocked the man to the ground and fled the area.

The victim said one of the suspects was a black male, around 6′ and 210 pounds in his twenties. He did not get a look at the second assailant.

An SPD check of the area did not turn up the suspects.

There’s no bus stop at 12th and Spring, although there are a two that are each two blocks away. I walk in this area (and use the bus at both of those stops often) and it would be good to know more about this.

I’ll change to near. My understanding from SPD is that he had just exited the bus.

…..get enough money together to get gas in the status car, most always involved, to drive to Cap Hill and walk up to people and say, “Give me your stuff”? Make sure to out number, sucker punch, pistol whip, grab chicks hair even, shoot em up, or whatever….EVEN if they gave you your stuff already, cuz your street as fuck bro?!!!

Then….go home or blunt/crack out with the funds and phones laughing at how afraid the non-aggressive, falsely secure, scared, weak, hipsters, gays, and general population citizens of the hill that aren’t prepared for anything remotely close to say a street battle at any givin place or point with an armed gunman?? And why should you be?!

Do this once or twice…..it’s just too easy to not continue. I feel it’s like candy at this point. A simple get away 15-30 blocks or maybe a quick I-5 drive…but I don’t feel like the loot is traveling very far away. Anyone else? Not minimizing police efforts but I feel like the cops should try going AT ONCE to Madison, 12th, 15th, rainier, cherry and wait for the get away car to roll by?

Why can’t these cases be deemed “Homeland Terrorism”? Why can’t going around the streets terrorizing and stakling prey (complete strangers) be considerd WAAAAY more than “robbery”?…in our country? It is other places…and then some.

A confusing problem here for me is that it seems most ALL of these incidents are happenning within 2-10 blocks of the police station? The times and a big deal? 10pm, 6pm, 11pm, Sunday, Tuesday…these aren’t 3am fri-sat crew. Walkign with a friend….don’t matter. More loot actually. I never have got how it’s a virtual ghosttown with barely any lights on when you walk by the East precinct? It’s not inviting AT ALL for the GP and is nearly invisible to villians it seems.

Makes me feel helpless and the situation feel helpless in that I strongly feel like these muggers are totally prepared for a wrist slap….again….if that happens. What’s a year or so max? No biggy. Chill with friends old or new, tell tales of hipsters peeing their pants sacred, of how bad ass you and your walk up from behind sucker punch move is and how many I-Whatevers you scored?… or play cards, take a 12 month nap….etc. Minor inconvienience.

Only consequence that sadly may REALLY matter I feel like? If the potential target is one of the rare people on the street that is carrying and puts a large hole in your face from point blank range and then stands over you and spits on your dying flesh like the complete piece of shit you are that was lucky to have even found a seat in the ride of life to start with. A handshake by the cops once the obvious sequence of events is figured out and on your way.

Stilllll further helpless feelings then come from this part. I sadly feel like dying….is also not a major biggy….it’s even honored as a part of “The Game”. You fought a hard battle and went down on the battleground. You were never afraid and backed that up…a real MAN. A Playa of the game. A Soldier. A Martyr.

Please come forward. One of your fellow citizens needs a hug, and/or someone to get his or her back.

I don’t condone vigilantism, but I do share your anger/frustration at these incidents happening over and over and over again….the reports are almost depressingly similar, including the description of the assailant(s), whenever that is reported. I wish I had some solutions, but I don’t…nor does anyone else it seems.

Yes, thugs like this are probably raised in a poverty environment, both emotional and financial, but the vast majority of poor people do not commit crimes. They alone are responsible for choosing to assault and rob innocent people. I sure wish the SPD would catch more of them and bring the law down hard on their immoral heads.
