Pictures from the light rail tunnel to Capitol Hill

Sound Transit tunnels from UW to Capitol Hill by Josh Trujillo/SeattlePI.com

The best photojournalist in Seattle visited the Montlake mouth of the light rail tunnel being bored from the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium to Broadway to capture images of the subterranean construction zone. You can check out the photo essay by the Seattle PI’s Josh Trujillo, here

The essay notes that the tunnel boring machine working its way up the Hill from UW has already progressed about 2000 feet and is currently beneath Montlake. For more on its path and the construction of the light rail tunnels, see Adventure beneath your feet: What to watch for as Hill’s light rail tunneling begins. And add grey geysers to the list.
