Capitol Hill’s ‘Tony Rad’ honored for HIV prevention work

An important — and active — member of the Capitol Hill community was officially thanked for his work this week as Tony Radovich received an award recognizing his years of service in HIV prevention in Seattle:

It is with great pleasure that I announce the winner of the first annual Dr. Bob Wood Award for Excellence in HIV Prevention — Tony Radovich! Tony has been active in HIV prevention for many years. He has worked tirelessly as a prevention provider and advocate, and is known for his creativity, perseverance, advocacy, humor and passion.

Seattle Gay Scene reports that Radovich was honored at a ceremony Tuesday at the Seattle HIV/AIDS Program offices.

Radovich’s recent work includes the Seattle Transitional Grant Area HIV/AIDS Planning Council, the HIV30 project and the Strength Over Speed effort.

I was at the ceremony on Monday and it was incredible to experience the love in the room for this man. It is so wonderful that he has tackled HIV/AIDS and ‘Speed’ issues in the community with such great cheer and grace.
