Warm your heart, fill your tummy — Help Via Trib hit goal of 200 coats for kids

Here’s another giving opportunity to add to our roster of Capitol Hill food, coat and, yes, sock drives. Via Tribunali is part of a triumvirate of Seattle pizza providers gathering coats for kids. To thank you for your donation, you’ll get a free gift:

In a display of just how generous (and pizza-loving) Seattleites are, Via Tribunali, Pizzeria 22 and Cornuto have already collected 50 coats in their “Pizza for Parkas” winter coat drive to benefit the Atlantic Street Center that started during Thanksgiving week. Indeed, throwing tradition aside, it seems that many Seattle-ites chose to celebrate Thanksgiving with a free Margherita pizza in exchange for a coat that will keep a needy child warm this winter. The goal is at least 200 coats.

Meanwhile, if you’d like dip your Christmas spirit a little deeper into the egg nog, don’t forget about two holiday light events on the Hill this week — Wednesday night at Seattle U and Friday night at the Volunteer Park Conservatory.
