We had such a great response to Shop the Hill over Black Friday and Small Business Saturday last weekend that we wanted to continue to spread the love of great deals to you all so that you may in kind, spread the love of shopping locally. Shopping on Capitol Hill has something for everyone on your list. Okay, maybe not big screen TV’s…or do we? Not that a TV is on my shopping list, but I’m sure you could pick one up at Capitol Loans for a good price.
Here are some sales and specials that are going on this week at local businesses to help you shop for everyone on your list.
- I work at Babeland, so I most definitely get people presents from here (best place to have an employee discount). If you will not be opening gifts in front of the kids or the in-laws, I’m sure there is someone on YOUR list that would like a gift from here too. May I suggest the Orgasm in a Box Kits? They are inexpensive at $18, come pre-wrapped, fit nicely in a stocking, AND…$2 from each kit sold is donated to the Pike Market Downtown Food Bank. Come for a cause why don’t ya.
Friday, December 2– Sunday, December 4, reach into the Babeland stocking and pick a coupon giving you a free gift with your purchase or a discount on what you buy.
Saturday, December 3 1-4pm Babeland and Jimmyjane, one of our favorite sex toy designers, bring you Street Treats! Seattle’s homemade dessert food truck, will be here serving Hot Apple Cider, Hot Cocoa and homemade marshmallows, as well as fresh baked goodies to all Babeland customers!
Starting Monday, December 5, buy anything from our sexy gift guide and get free gift with your purchase.

ave you checked out the shop Mishu on Broadway? I used to shop at their store in Fremont, and then one day, like a year ago, I was wishing I could go there to pick up a belt, but I was in a rush so I just headed to Broadway instead. Lo and behold, they had a new store here. Proof that wishes do come true people. This is an affordable shop anyway, but look…they have some sales on warm things for you.
….Snuggle up at Mishu…
We will have fleece jackets for $15; scarves 2 for $20 (reg.$10); Jackets, skirts, and tops from $10-$25. We will have our usual great deals on warm wool hats for $15. Arm warmers, head warmers, neck warmers and Great Socks made in Japan & CA. Photo 2 from Mishu. Lady in wrap

- Le Frock is jam packed with clothing. And they have stuff for guys in there too. I know it just looks likes dresses and heels as you’re strolling by, but they have ties, and button downs and jackets. Good, fancy stuff. Fancy stuff like faux fur.

- I love happy hour as much as the next gal, but I’m a nursing mama right now, so booze right after work isn’t the best idea yaknowwhatImean. So a happy hour on SHOPPING is right up my alley. Get off of work, have a treat, get a discount. Win win win.

- When I was a kid, one year we sold candles around the holidays to raise money for something at school (the glee club I think). I actually sold only 1. To my mom. It smelled amazing. It was the best scent in the world. It was sweet and vanilla cookie like, though no vanilla or cookie candle ever comes close to smelling as good. I have smelled a lot of candles over the years too; I’ve even been to THE Yankee Candle Factory (I know, you’re jealous). You know where I finally found a candle that smells like the candle of my childhood dreams? At Butter Home this past weekend. They call it pumpkin pie (it doesn’t smell like pumpkin pie though) and it is from heaven. You should by one and create wonderful memories of your own. Lucky you, Butter is turning 1 and having a sale.

- I’m not much for wearing scented things, but as previously stated, I’m a bit infatuated with the vanilla cookie scent, so when I saw that Happy Endings is the exclusive retailer of Skydottir Epic Cookie No5 Perfume Oil, my curiosity was piqued. This store apparently has everything from perfume to furniture to dog food, and they are also having a burlesque show this weekend.
Come check out our first ever event on Saturday, December 3rd. We proudly present, Bootleg Burlesque. In an art form where it’s all too easy to drop hundreds of dollars with the bat of one very sparkly, very extended eyelash, what happens when the performer attached to that eyelash is constrained by a budget? And that budget is a measly fifty bucks?

- If material goods are not on your list, perhaps some experiential gifts are more your fancy. You can get a special deal on yoga for your friend s if you get a monthly pass at the Sweatbox. Right now they are selling a monthly for only $99.00 (regularly $140). For best results, buy online as they don’t have regular office hours.

- Really though, there is no better experiential gift (in my book) than the gift of a massage. I mean, unless trips around the world are an option, in which case I pick those. But, barring travel as an option, I pick massage. And why not get something awesome like an herbal foot bath while you are at it?
