Is it prophecy? 2012 Capitol Hill Block Party 3-day tickets went on sale today just in time for you to stock your favorite rocker’s stockings. But the marketing for the passes contains some ominous messaging in light of the criticism leveled at the 3-day festival by some local business owners in 2011:
We asked organizers about the whole “final” thing and what it means but the answer is murky at best. So, is this the last dance for Block Party? It wouldn’t be the end of the world, right?
Could the marketers just be playing on that? Hence the question mark after Final.
Like African arts stores that never go out of business despite continual “Going Out of Business Sales”…or, Rock Lobster.

But, regardless, Capitol Hill Block Party has just become another Bumbershoot, but without the space for it. It’s out of control. No thanks.

The Block party has officially gotten way too big and retarded. Time for it to move somewhere else. Perhaps take over Bumbershoot? That’s a festival that deserves to be put out of its misery.
