- Yellow rabbit iPhone grab: A woman reported being mugged of her iPhone last Thursday night at E Pine and Summit. Responding SPD officers could not track down the suspect.
- Band Sweet Pups turned to the Facebook to plead for help after having their gear ripped off this weekend from a vehicle near 12th and Thomas. Let them know if you’ve seen their stuff around the Hill:
- Party burglar strikes? A victim burglarized last Thursday night told police a recent partygoer is a prime suspect. The report for the Bellevue Ave E apartment break-in doesn’t list what was stolen but the victim told police that it seemed likely the items were targeted by a person who had come to a party at the residence a week earlier. The cops told the ripped-off host to give them a call “if he found any more details on his missing items.”
- Orange peel assault: Police arrested a man last Wednesday evening after a disturbance at a market in the 500 block of Broadway. The male suspect was argumentative with police and yelled “I hope you like your job. You guys are going to be retiring soon?” according to the report on the incident. The shopkeeper at the store told police the man struck her and littered the ground with orange peel:
- Two-time victim: The officer investigating a residential burglary in the 200 block of 19th Ave E found no sign of a forced break-in. The victim contacted police last Friday morning to report the theft of cash and a debit card from a wallet left lying on a table. The debit card was used “in several North Sound cities.” According to the report, this was the second time the victim had reported cash and a debit card being stolen from their wallet.
people–put your phones away when you are walking in a high crime area–aka Capitol Hill. you must be alert to your surroundings or you will suffer the consequences. The #1 thing criminals look for is people who are not alert. Put the phones in the pocket or if you must text someone, stop, move back against a wall, and look around. this is common sense for people who grew up in a real city. nobody has ever mugged me. just because I am paying attention. I scope out every human being within sight. if they see you dont see them they will attack. wake up you live in a big city. not Iphone candyland. ;-)
Maybe it’s time to go back to our days of grunge and chain our iPhones to our pants?
iChain, coming soon to the apple store.
