Blotter | Woman robbed of camera on 12th Ave, Cal Anderson tagged

More mobile conditions means Capitol Hill criminals can get back to work, too. Seattle Police responded to a report of a camera theft only blocks away from the East Precinct on Friday afternoon.

According to police radio, a woman reported seeing a man steal a camera from the front seat of her car at 12th and Denny before sloshing away south on 12th Ave just after 1p. The suspect description is vague — the thief was bundled up in a black jacket and black pants.

Meanwhile, in more crime a stone’s throw from the precinct, Seattle Parks said it is looking into how quickly the swarm of anti-cop tagging inside Cal Anderson park will be removed. Slog reported the ugly paint job earlier today.

Neighbor near Volunteer Park

I saw a very tall, thin white guy who looked to be in his early twenties and was wearing dark pants with a dark, hooded jacket with a fringe around the hood walking down Federal Ave in the middle of the street yesterday. That part seemed normal enough since traction has been pretty good in the streets and not always so good on the sidewalks, but then he surprised me by reaching down and trying the handle of the car parked in front of our house, which I knew was not his. By the time I got downstairs, he had disappeared into the park, I think. I got the impressiom that the jerk makes a habit of opportunistic theft, so lock your doors! This guy had a distinctive, slouching gait that reminded me a bit of that of a German Shepherd. Would be curious to know if the camera thief had a German-shepherd lope.

I’m so tired of the tagging. Fuck these occupy/anarchist assholes.

ACTUALLY, the thief was an ACTUAL german shepherd walking on its hind legs, dressed in human hipster clothes. I figured this out because I was like, hmm peculiar gait on that gentleman, suppose sir that you might pose for a minor video for my websities, and he took off at a trot reminiscent of a foxtrot but clearly evolutionarily different. Later I saw him respond to (as I was following him) a retro cigarette machine by lifting one leg and wetting himself in his jeans. PECULIAR. Finally I seemed to have lost che culprit but I find his clothes??? WTF. So I opened them up to the seat (you would be surprised how many clues I find in the seat of the pants) and found a fresh load of dog doo. I know it was dog because of its unique flavour. Then I noticed a real german shepherd running away from my location. He ran into the Wild Rose and, respecting the auotonomy of queer wimmin-folks’ spaces, I did not follow.

Thank you, Parks and SPU employees, for the quick cleanup of the graffiti. Sometimes, the response time to graffiti reports is slow (days to weeks), so this was an exceptional effort. Now if the anarchist creeps could just be caught in the act….

For those who don’t know, there is a very quick&easy way to report graffiti online. Here’s the link to the reporting form: http://www2.seattle.gov/util/forms/graffiti/graffitiForm.asp

I gotta cousin down in San Francisco and he’s been saying graffiti removal is the responsibility of the property owner. And here’s the punchline– If the victim/property owner doesn’t fix the graffiti in a timely manner, the city fines the property owner.

We’ve got it made up here. Made like lemonaid on hot sunny day. In the shade too.

Seattle has this same regulation for graffiti on private property, but my guess is that fines are rarely levied.
