Rock ‘n roll play ‘Paper Houses’ raises money for Occupy Seattle

SEATTLE, March 19, 2012 – Rock ‘n roll play “Paper Houses” pledges to donate a portion of ticket revenue to the Occupy Seattle movement after it opens March 28. The play is a comedy about a neighbor who operates a billboard that blocks expensive views of an encroaching development. Seattle’s finest garage duo, Pony Time, will play three sets during each show.

“I can’t speak for all of the 99%,” said online provocateur Ian Finkenbinder, “but if those theatre snots want to provision Occupy Seattle, we’ll take it.”

The audience is advised to leave their fancy opera glasses behind unless they’re secret flasks, because Pony Time will take control of Annex Theatre’s famous sound system.

“Annex has dual eighteen-inch subs installed under audience seating,” said Jen Moon, the “Paper Houses” director and Annex Theatre staff member. “We refer to them as ‘taint shakers.’”

Tickets to the play are $20. “Paper Houses” runs March 28 – March 31, 2012, 8pm at Annex Theatre. See http://www.annextheatre.org/2012-season/guest-productions/paper-houses for more information.
