It’s been some time since we tagged along with real-life superhero Phoenix Jones on a Capitol Hill patrol. We think we like this guy’s style better anyhow. Thanks to Capitol Hill shutterbug Tim Durkan for sharing images in the CHS Flickr pool captured Saturday night of this spectacular Spider-Man’s visit to Broadway. Though it would probably be more appropriate for CHS to channel J. Jonah Jameson and have it in for the costumed freak, Durkan writes that the slightly chubby Spidey apparently hails from Wenatchee, had an assistant of some sort on hand and was super friendly as he did his thing this weekend around Seattle.

I seem to recall from the comics (of some 40-odd years ago), that Parker frequently wore a back pack, so that he had some place to stash his civilian clothes, along with his camera equipment, when he had to dash off as Spider-man. He’d web it under a fire escape or some-such for later retrieval. (PS I love that my spell-checker knows that “Spider-man” is hyphenated!)
I liked ‘spider man’ because he doesn’t spray mace all over everyone like that little clown Benjamin John Francis Fodor.
but he’s no Link!
judging from his reaction to the crowd that assembled, he seemed like a genuinely friendly guy who’d never done anything like this before… welcome to the Hill, Spidey – you’re among friends.
