CHS is again teaming up with community biz leaders Seattle Babeland and the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce for a completely free and fully grassroots campaign to promote after-Thanksgiving holiday shopping on Capitol Hill. None of it involves waiting in a giant crowd of trampling shoppers. None of it involves giant, global credit card companies. You can also choose to buy nothing on Friday and still be part of the fun.
Below, you’ll find the 2013 Shop the Hill roster of limited-time deals and promotions from more than 50 Capitol Hill area shops, restaurants and organizations. We’ll also continue to add updates via capitolhillseattle.com/shopthehill and on the Shop the Hill Facebook page.
We keep Shop the Hill simple. Each year, we invite Capitol Hill businesses to come up with a promotion for the weekend following Thanksgiving that we then spread the word about in every cheap, free and effective way we can. Many of the deals, you’ll note, extend into December. You can help, too, of course, if you’d like to give your favorite local merchant a boost by sharing information in comments or on the Facebook page. Thanks also to Broadway’s Perfect Copy & Print for helping us with the paper version of the Shop the Hill guide.
This year, the Chamber is also planning a “Holiday Hotspot” event in December with more fun planned for the weekend promotion:
The Holiday Hotspot is a three-day Shop the Hill extravaganza December 6 / 7 / 8 full of fun events for the whole family, including a Free Saturday morning kid party! Join us for the Holiday Hotspot Cocktail Soirée at Sole Repair on Sunday, December 8 from 6-9 p.m. Admission to the party with receipt from any Capitol Hill shop!
Happy shopping.

[…] Today is Buy Nothing Day, which is a laudable goal. That said, your mileage may vary. Buy Local Day also starts today (at least in my new ‘hood in Seattle, called Shop The Hill). […]
