Capitol Hill Garage Sale Day is Sunday. This is eighth year for the extremely grassroots event and the first edition of the community garage sale day as a late summer event. It’s a smaller, quieter CHGSD this year but you’ll still find around 50 sales in the Cal Anderson community lot and in the surrounding streets from Volunteer Park to E Union. Registration for the community area at Cal Anderson is now closed but you can still add your sale for your own yard/parking strip/street corner/etc to the roster here and we’ll add another dot to the map.

The idea behind garage sale day is simple: Give neighbors a day to rally around for fun sales, bargains, and meeting new friends. Hope to see you out there.

Meanwhile, the weekend calendar also includes another fun event in Cal Anderson as Three Dollar Bill Cinema presents the first in its 2015 Bedtime Stories series of outdoor movies. This week: The Princess Bride. You — yes, you — are encouraged to come dressed as a princess. Movies start around dusk as soon as it gets dark. So, sometime around midnight way up north here in Seattle.
