12993392_10156990041050413_2114028377537041049_nThursday’s April Capitol Hill Art Walk kicks off a weekend of activities around the area including a special celebration of some of the newest public art in the neighborhood.

CHS introduced you to 12th Ave Square Park and the Cloud Veil installation by artist Ellen Sollod earlier this week. Thursday, you can enjoy a music and community-filled grand opening party complete with a ribbon-cutting to officially open the new public space. A retrospective of Aaron Huffman’s art will be up at Cafe Pettiroso on Thursday. The bass player for Harvey Danger and art director for The Stranger died earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the musical arts pressed flat and etched in rings onto vinyl discs will be celebrated Saturday as Record Store Day brings special releases and other fun to area shops like Everyday Music, Porchlight, and Spin Cycle.

Sunday, the LoxSmith Bagel pop-up will be part of another edition of the Badwill Market at the Rhino Room:

Aside from bagels, we also will be showcasing our hot and cold smoked fish. Thus far it has been all positive momentum and we are excited to add to the Market legacy.

As for the April edition of the neighborhood art walk, 45 locations across the Hill will feature art and artists Thursday night. You can find a full roster of this month’s walk venues and featured artists at capitolhillartwalk.com.
