Seattle Police had a building at the base of Capitol Hill surrounded late Monday afternoon after a report of suicidal man with a gun inside.
SPD was called to the Pine address of Seattle Counseling Services around 4 PM to the report of staff was evacuating and an agitated man inside the building.
Police could be seen closing off Melrose and still at the corner just before 5 PM.
There were no reports of injuries at the scene.
UPDATE: SPD confirms that the callout was for the report of an armed man threatening suicide. A department spokesperson said the man came out of his own volition around 5 PM and was taken into custody and then taken to Harborview for treatment.
