Police track down possible suspects in long search after reported masked robbery attempt at Summit Ave E grocery

Seattle Police searched the streets of Capitol Hill for an hour and took at least two people into custody after a robbery attempt Saturday night inside a Summit Ave E grocery.

Police were called to Summit Foods around 7:15 to a report of four people wearing masks who had tried to steal a purse and claimed to be armed with a gun before fleeing on foot from the store.

A long search followed across the area around the 500 block of Summit Ave E as police checked out witness reports and a K9 unit attempted to track the four suspects.

During the search, a foot pursuit resulted in one suspect wanted on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant being taken into custody.

Just about an hour after the Summit robbery call, police took two more people found in the area trying to flee from officers. Police took both the young male suspects into custody.

There were no reported injuries.

Another crime at an area retailer around the same time added to the police presence in the area after the Revival vintage shop in the 200 block of Broadway E was the site of a shoplift attempt that escalated when a male suspect shoved an employee so he and his female accomplice could flee the store. Police were searching the area for the duo.
