Police say two women in their 70s were robbed at gunpoint Sunday when they were on an early walk to prepare their Central District church for morning services.
According to the Seattle Police report on the hold-up near 22nd and Yesler, the women were targeted in the robbery involving multiple suspects and vehicles as they were walking on the street just before 6 AM:
They left the church and were walking to a nearby home when suspect vehicles pulled up and confronted them at 22 Av./E. Yesler. The suspect vehicles were described as one white van and one red van, both occupied by drivers only (no other suspects seen). The suspects approached on foot and presented handguns (Suspect 1 had two handguns, Suspect 2 had one handgun).
Police say the suspects held the women at gunpoint and stole their purses, wallets, and cell phones before fleeing in the getaway vehicles northbound on 22nd Ave, calling the heist a “coordinated” robbery.
There were no reported serious injuries and no arrests.

Wow you can’t walk to church in the morning without worrying about your safety.
ACAB = All crooks are bastards. This is pure evil.
Well you know defund the police, ACAB, blah blah blah…
But give a pass to all the SPD officers who lost their job because they put their misguided ideologies over their sworn duty to protect the citizens of Seattle?
That has had a much larger effect than any talks or action on defunding.
This is most horrible. If you can post the name of their church I will at least provide a donation to that entity.
