Some of the strongest winds of an already blustery fall season are set to hit Seattle Monday morning into the afternoon. A plunge in temperatures will follow.

The National Weather Service says we will see gusts near 30 MPH along with heavy rains into the afternoon and evening:

Rain, mainly before 2pm, then showers likely after 5pm. Temperature falling to around 49 by 5pm. South wind 13 to 21 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Lows into the mid 30s are predicted overnight.

The blustery conditions through the weekend left the Capitol Hill area’s trees and power lines mostly intact though one large tree was reported down along Lake Washington Blvd and hazards were reported near 13th and Yesler and on 8th Ave on First Hill.

As of Monday morning, Seattle City Light showed only a few scattered outages across the city.

The missing letters on the marquee at the Broadway Rite Aid, meanwhile, pre-date this latest windstorm.

UPDATE 2:28 PM: The winds haven’t left too much damage behind. Wire were reported down in the 1700 block of E Olive St where a tree has knocked out power to around 400 customers, City Light says.

That sign was even more disturbing with the “O” still in place.
