Capitol Hill’s Cal Anderson Park continues to hold its place as a space for more than hanging out and play. Saturday, multiple community and labor groups will be converging in the space for activism and mutual aid.
- Starbucks Worker Solidarity Rally April 23 — 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM: Kshama Sawant and labor activists have organized a rally in Cal Anderson in support of unionizing coffee workers amid claims of Starbucks “union busting” activities.
- Mutual Aid Spring Fair April 23 — 2:00 PM: Clothing, zines, and a seed and supply swap are planned to be part of the afternoon as people involved in mutual aid around the neighborhood and beyond gather to share community and resources in Cal Anderson.

In all sincerity, what possible good can come of the same group that was helping to tear up Cal Anderson with that “peoples’ garden” now come with an event to “restore the community?” Seems your “help” was what helped destroy Cal Anderson during CHOP in the first place. Remember all the camper tents you helped unleash on the park? Remember Diaz Love falsely reporting on their live feed the night of June 28, 2020 that Antonio Mays Jr.’s driving nearby as “The Proud Boys trying to kill us?” Leading to “CHOP Security” murdering him in cold blood minutes later?
Remember Antifa – Progressive Seattle twitter cheering for hours afterwards on the night of 6/28/2020 and on into the early morning of 6/29/2020 when Mays’ death was falsely reported as a Proud Boy killing? As those in CHOP tampered with the crime scene and SPD was nowhere to be found?
Yes, I just hope Sawant doesn’t try to use this “Rally” as another opportunity for her to grandstand and get a bunch of people really p*ssed off, with no useful action forward, as she is want to do. IMO, She likes to make more spectacle than actually doing hard work to make the city better.
