This is crazy. I was almost hit hours later at Pike and Belmont halfway through the intersection and a car came barreling from the other side. No one gave a shit. I could have died.
In our current defunded era it is critical to mind for your own safety. Be vigilant and look both ways and then repeat as is necessary, walk quickly. The laws in Seattle are no longer laws only guidelines.
LOL “defund era”. Cops are leaving because nobody likes cops. Not because they are being defunded lol. Educate yourself on exit interviews on why they are leaving…it’s not because they don’t like those fat bonuses…
You must watch a lot of KOMO.
You mom must be proud of you.
Jonathan you must spend a lot of time in your own echo chamber.
You are absolutely correct Defund. The defund movement was about trying to restrict/reduce funds and telling the police they are unwanted by people who simply want to do whatever they want with no restrictions or repercussions and unfortunately people are paying the price. I guess they see the world as survival of the fittest or who arms themselves the best? What we see on the streets is the result of that. More drugs, more accidents, people not stopping for stop signs and traveling through red lights, speeding through neighborhoods, armed robberies, you name it.
defunding the police didn’t make people assholes. in fact, it itself is a reaction to that.
You can’t be vigilant when a car enters a 4 way intersection when you already on the sidewalk like what happened to me, I can’t out-run a barreling car. I saw a blind man crossing the sidewalk askew and the oncoming cars couldn’t give a f’. Luckily someone was able to guide him while I was just approaching/noticing the situation, before something fatal occurred.
by sidewalk i meant crosswalk*
What defunding. Bring proof that their actually strapped for money, because they ain’t.
It’s really becoming a lawless town sometimes or a zone of no consequences. For example, people were dealing drugs and smoking them in the sidewalk and cops didn’t do anything.
Lawlessness is what you get from criminalizing the poor and not the rich. Lawlessness is Bezos and Schultz union busting. Are you ready to start prosecuting them first?
Would love any information about the attack on Bok a Bok last night. First responders worked on an assumption that it was pepper spray into the window. I was in the back of runaway and it felt like I was standing next to someone who was sprayed, coughing for hours, the skin on my face feels like a sunburn.
