  • Summit BB shooter: A man was shot in the back by multiple BBs believed to have been fired by a shooter armed with an airgun in a nearby building Saturday afternoon at Summit and E Olive St. Police and Seattle Fire were called to the scene just before 1 PM where a man was hit by the airgun fire. Seattle Fire said the man suffered minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. According to East Precinct radio updates, witnesses said the shootings were an ongoing issue from an upper story of a nearby apartment building. Police were gathering information about residents of units facing the area of the shooting but there were no reported immediate arrests.
  • Gun violence: The area around Garfield High has cooled down following increased SPD patrols and campus security after a spike in gun violence around the school. Police did investigate reported gunfire Friday night just after 10:30 PM near 22nd and Alder where multiple vehicles were reported to be involved and police found shell casings on the pavement but no injuries were reported. Earlier on Friday just after midnight, a reported shooting on 19th Ave turned out to be related to a car fire that spread to a residence. Meanwhile, more serious gun incidents continued in the city’s south where a man was shot and killed Friday night in the Rainier Valley. Sunday night brought a second weekend gun incident to the area with one sent to the hospital after a shooting on Rainier Avenue South.
