A man died in an early Tuesday morning stabbing at Broadway and Pike.
Police were called to the 76 station at the corner around 3:30 AM. Arriving police found the victim unconscious after losing a large amount of blood from stab wounds to his neck and back.
SPD reports the 45-year-old male victim died at the scene and says a 53-year-old suspect was found nearby. According to East Precinct radio updates, the suspect was detained by private security just north of the scene.
Police say they are investigating the early Independence Day murder and what led to the violent attack. SPD is asking anyone with information about the incident call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.

That, or maybe we just aren’t arresting and incarcerating the right people.
Surprise, surprise…. this guy has multiple arrests for violent offenses (including felonies) on his record. He clearly has mental issues – he stabbed a complete stranger to death. When are we going to learn that while not all people who have mental health problems are violent that a history of both should absolutely put up red flags.
