The large crash scene was reported just after 10:15 PM involving three vehicles, including one car flipped onto its side with a person trapped inside. Seattle Fire reported the occupant was able to “self extricate.” There were no reported significant injuries. The driver of one of the vehicles reportedly fled the scene on foot. Seattle Police were searching the area but reported no arrests.
Seattle City Council candidate Joy Hollingsworth happened onto the crash scene and reported the high-speed crash was caused by “street racing.”
Last night on 14th/Cherry, we walked on the scene of a major car accident from a street racing incident. Traffic safety is super important. Big thank you to our first responders, especially our Fire Department, who had to extract driver/passangers. Next to Seattle U + Cherry Hill pic.twitter.com/Qodd9m0ttJ

Shootings getting out of control here in the state’s largest open air drug market. And as usual, SPD nowhere near this hotspot during the usual hours when these happen and so no arrests. Same ol same ol but everything is fine!
totally agree. we have to hold the folks who enabled this behavior accountable this November..
Guns should be all be banned. There wouldn’t be shootings if there were no guns.
Obvious.
You do realize that there are only so many cops and that we can’t have them just standing around on every street corner in case crime happens, right?
Seattle Police Department wanted this to be: Anarchy, a cop’s paradise. Rue the day when all those very officers and detectives that think the idea of cooperation and them being Seattle Police is going to prevent them from being prosecuted.
The best drug dealers in Seattle are Seattle Police Department; deaf ears and blind eyes: An ear for an ear and an eye for an eye. The Federal Bureau of Investigation f

pretty sad that we’ve all come to expect this.
Reminder to all: It’s not “systemic this” or “structural that” or “mental health” or “gun control”. It’s a choice. People choose to pull the trigger.
It is their fault, and no-one else’s. And they must be held to account.
Exactly right! And thank you.
Maybe one of our three police officers could post up at Cal Anderson? Just for fun?
I was awake when the gunfire started.
Same spot every time.
Speed bumps, bollards, sidewalk bumpouts, safe streets infrastructure… or I guess keep thinking that the police and/or cameras will do something about street racing and ppl driving recklessly (often without insurance, plates, etc. or in stolen cars).
Please Hudson or Hollingsworth!
