- Saturday night overdoses: Multiple reported overdoses kept first responders busy Saturday night including a double overdose in the Central District and a woman reported in critical condition after a reported overdose on First Hill. In the First Hill incident, a woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition after suffering a reported overdose inside a First Hill apartment unit. Seattle Fire and Seattle Police were called to the 1100 block University building 11:30 PM Saturday night to the reported overdose as 911 was guiding CPR at the location. Seattle Fire took over and transported the approximately 35-year-old woman to Harborview. Earlier that night, Seattle Fire was called to the 400 block of 21st Ave to a reported double overdose involving a man and a woman in their 30s. SFD arrived to find one patient unconscious. Naloxone was administered to reverse the suspect opioid overdose and the medical situation was quickly downgraded as both patients were reported to be recovering. The man and woman were transported to Harborview in stable condition, according to Seattle Fire.
- Driver vs. pedestrian crashes: The bout of rainy weather has brought about increased crashes and safety issues on area streets including a spate of pedestrians hit by drivers. Sunday, Seattle Fire and SPD responded to two driver vs. pedestrian collisions. In the first around 7:40 PM, 911 callers reported a pedestrian was hit by a driver in the midst of the RapidRide G construction at 19th and Madison. Seattle Fire says the 42-year-old man who was hit was taken to the hospital in stable condition. There were no reported arrests. Later that night, police and fire units were called to Broadway at Denny for another crash. In the 9:20 PM incident, SFD reports a 22-year-old man was in stable condition and taken to the hospital after he was struck by a reported hit and run driver. Police were looking for an older Kia reportedly involved in the crash. There were no immediate arrests.
- Sunday morning stabbing: Seattle Police was investigating a stabbing Sunday morning reported on First Hill:
At 07:29hrs, officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 900 block of Union Street. Upon arrival, they found a male victim who had sustained a stab wound. Immediate medical assistance was provided at the scene until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and took over. The male victim was transported to HMC for his non-life-threatening injury. A second victim/suspect left prior to officers’ arrival and was not located.
There were no reported immediate arrests. - Jackson gunfire: Residents near S Jackson were awoken by gunfire early Saturday morning. SPD says officers responded to the 1800 block of South Jackson around 5:20 AM Saturday to investigate shots fired. Officers found the shooting scene but located no property damage or anyone injured.
- Stolen car crash: SPD says “an emergency city vehicle” was damaged after a car thief crashed a stolen car into the vehicle early last Thursday morning at 16th and Yesler.
On 9-21-2023, at 04:54hrs, an East Precinct patrol officer responded to investigate a collision involving an emergency city vehicle. A stolen vehicle collided with the emergency vehicle near the intersection of 16th Avenue and East Yesler Way. Due to the collision, the emergency vehicle collided with two parked vehicles in the area. The two subjects in the emergency vehicle were transported to HMC for non-life-threatening injuries.

How much money does SFD spend responding to overdoses? On my part of the hill it seems 2/3 of SFD responses are to over doses. This isn’t sustainable.
