Israel–Hamas war: Crowds march in Seattle for peace and a free Palestine

(Image: Yalla Seattle)

More than 1,000 people marched through downtown Seattle in a Saturday demonstration for a free Palestine as the world awaits an expected Israeli military offensive in Gaza following the Hamas October 7th attacks.

The peaceful rally comes amid an outpouring of concern and support for the people caught up in the rapidly escalating war.

Thousands have already died.

CHS reported here on the vigil held earlier this week at Capitol Hill’s Temple De Hirsch Sinai to organize support for Israel and mark the deaths of the Hamas attacks.

The resulting clash has now claimed an estimated 3,500 lives on all sides of the conflict including many civilians, observers say.

Around Capitol Hill, there are other efforts to help including E Olive Way’s Yalla which has been making Atayef with proceeds from the dessert going to support the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

Know of more benefits and fundraisers around the Capitol Hill and Central District area? Let us know in the comments.

in EVERY march/rally there are multiple causes represented. ALWAYS. y’all must be young & inexperienced. people have always gathered to protest stuff; who knows why so many causes on signs but that’s what happens…. people have been protesting the treatment of Palestinians for DECADES. nothing new or weird about it. WAR IS BAD FOR ALL SIDES. THERE ARE NO WINNERS. all citizens suffer when their leaders do shit like this. what must happen: VOTE OUT ALL REPUBLICANS/CONSERVATIVES and keep protesting/calling/writing/posting ALL of ’em, not just “your” reps, UNTIL we can right this stupid ship! THEN we must restructure the system bcz it’s obviously not working! term limits for all, no more over 70 or 75s (and i’m over 60), add to and change the constitution bcz we’re supposed to, pass the fucking ERA, and let’s see if we can have clean air & water — bcz if not, we can’t fight for or against ANYTHING. our “leaders” are DUMBASSES.
