- 25th Ave carjacking: An armed duo of thieves carjacked a driver making a delivery in the area of E Olive St and 25th Ave Saturday night. According to SPD’s brief on the incident, the driver was robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint by two males around 8:30 PM. Police were searching for the red 2009 Toyota Camry taken in the incident. One of the suspects was reported armed with a handgun outfitted with what appeared to be a laser sight. There were no reported injuries and no arrests.
- Man busted for throwing concrete onto I-5: Police say they arrested a man Tuesday morning after seeing him throw “a large chunk of concrete” onto I-5 from the Pike overpass. According to SPD, police received a report of a man throwing rocks onto the freeway just before noon Tuesday. As police arrived, the man reportedly seen throwing the chunk over a fence and down about 50 feet onto I-5. “Officers immediately engaged the suspect who fled west bound, resulting in a short foot pursuit before apprehending the individual,” SPD’s brief reads.
- Corrosive vial: Seattle Fire was called to the busy Broadway intersection outside Capitol Hill Station for a hazardous material response Saturday afternoon. SFD says the 3:15 PM call was quickly downgraded and crews collected “a small vile (sic) of a reportedly toxic and corrosive substance.” No other details were provides. No injuries were reported and the area was reported safe during the response.
- Bus crash: The driver of a King County Metro bus reportedly swerving to avoid another vehicle smashed the bus into the building home to the Skate Like a Girl organization at 16th and Jackson last Thursday night:
At 1743 hours a King County Metro bus was traveling in the 1600 blk of S Jackson St when an oncoming vehicle attempted a left hand turn directly in its path. In order to avoid the accident, the bus swerved, lost control, and crashed into a building. The building was heavily damaged, but no injuries were reported. All passengers were moved to another bus line without incident.
TheRt. 24Rt. 14 bus has been stuck in the side of the building since the crash as it was determined how best to remove the vehicle without causing further damage. King County Metro said it was planning to remove the bus today — and help Skate Like a Girl find a new home. The nonprofit was already planning to move out of the building slated for redevelopment.

The people throwing rocks onto the highway could have killed a driver or passenger on cars or buses. Lock them up.
Yes, agreed, but the people doing it are part of the protected class of “our unhoused neighbors” so…

The bus couldn’t have been on route 24, as that’s a trolleybus and route 24 isn’t operated with trolleys
They should just leave the bus stuck in the warehouse and close the wall around it. It could be a bad ass hang out area for the skaters.
I think you mean route 14 bus, not 24. It is the Mt. Baker route.
