Now in its third summer, Volunteer Park’s upgraded amphitheater still celebrating as summer concert series begins this week

This is the third summer we’ve been able to enjoy Volunteer Park’s new amphitheater. Once again, the community group dedicated to keeping the park a vibrant and active neighborhood center is hosting a series of Thursday night concerts to celebrate the $2.7 million amphitheater project.

This Thursday, the Volunteer Park Trust welcomes you to the first night of its Summer Series at the Amphitheater 2024 run of free community concerts featuring Seattle’s own Clinton Fearon.

The 2024 series will run for six weeks with each of the Thursday performances running from 6 to 8:30 PM. Organizers invite attendees to bring a picnic or enjoy the food trucks. Funding from Seattle Parks & Recreation, the Seattle Parks Foundation, and King County’s 4Culture help support the annual concert series. Donations from the community including Seattle hip-hop star Macklemore have also helped make the new amphitheater and its performances a reality.

Thursday’s night of reggae also mark the start of a big couple weeks of live music on Capitol Hill. Next week, the Capitol Hill Block Party will kick off the 2024 edition of its three-day festival on the streets of Pike/Pine.
