There were no arrests in the latest airgun shooting on Capitol Hill but CHS has details from one of the victims targeted in the early Sunday morning assault on 15th Ave E.
If you are in an open area at night around Capitol Hill and a group of males pulls up and yells to get your attention, take cover.
According to East Precinct radio updates, police were called to the area near the 7-Eleven just after 2 AM Sunday to the reported airgun shooting but the victim says cops never showed up. The victim said they were hit four times at close range after the group sped up in grey or silver Mazda 3 sedan, yelled to get the victim’s attention, then opened fire. The victim says another person standing near the nearby Aviv Hummus Bar was also hit.
There were no reported serious injuries.
The victim who was targeted Sunday morning near 15th and Denny says the airgun in the attack looked like “a multi-colored AK 47.”
While airguns aren’t regulated like firearms, shooting and injuring people with them could bring serious charges.
The assaults were the latest involving young men shooting realistic looking airguns at seemingly random victims on Capitol Hill — though one recent incident was being investigated as a hate crime
Police were investigating multiple possibly related incidents the night of Sunday, June 30th involving two males and airguns reported shooting either pellets or paintballs.
Officers were called to Pine and Bellevue around midnight to talk with victims who said they believed they had been targeted in a hate assault in one of the shootings. Police were searching for two males last seen fleeing on Lime scooters in the area of Seattle University but made no arrests, according to radio updates.
Later that night, a 23-year-old was shot and killed in a nearby Capitol Hill parking lot.
Attempts to reach SPD to ask about the incidents and investigations have not been successful.

It’s open season on the residents of Capitol Hill. Good luck, folks.
I was shot with an airsoft gun near miller park Thursday morning, July 4th, from what I identified as a white or silver mazda sedan.
Same with me, 5:45 pm 6/13 walking down the E Cherry side of SU. The idiots were stuck at a red light, so I took a photo and called the police with the info: silver four-door Lexus RX 350 license plate AWK 1051
Can you describe the suspects?
Unfortunately no. The windows toward the back were deeply tinted and they rolled them up as I walked towards the car. I still have the photo, but the format is too large to upload here.
LOL KIDS & SUMMER TIME… IM JUST GLAD THEY AINT DOING SOMETHING THAT WOULD LAND THEM I JAIL FOR LIFE LOL
You’re in idiot. Those pellets hit hard enough to put out an eye. Perhaps you could offer yourself up for target practice for them since you seem to think it’s no big deal?
Hope you don’t catch one in the eye. Then you will be blind for life, LOL.
Chef, I apologize for being so judgmental about your comment, although I thought it was appalling, I don’t know your experience. I don’t know what you are going through. So forgive me. I do need want you to be harmed.
Weird how people think committing violence against innocent people is just a thing kids do in the summer time. And as long as it’s not something that would land them in jail for life then lol. Really high standards. Thanks for being my neighbor.
This happened to my husband and I back in August. Near Union and Harvard, they hit me in the arm 3 times. Same silver car description. I can’t believe it has taken this long for authorities to do something.
