The Seattle Police Department says a man wanted in an April homicide in a First Hill “drug squat” has been apprehended.
SPD reports Ayub Mohamed was detained Wednesday for a “minor violation” and taken into custody.
Police identified the 28-year-old as the suspect in the case in late April and asked for the public’s assistance in locating him.
40-year-oldย David Chuyeshkov died inside First Hillโs Tuscany Apartments of injuries from a gunshot wound to the torso in the April 2nd shooting. Police say another man was also injured.
A person with knowledge of the situation told CHS that Chuyeshkov was not a resident of the building but that a ground floor unit had become a โdrug squatโ with regular trespassers.
Mohamed was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of multiple charges including assault, burglary, and murder. He has not yet been charged.
