Man stabbed in reported North Capitol Hill attempted carjacking — UPDATE

A victim was stabbed in the leg in a reported attempted carjacking near Broadway and Newton Street Tuesday night.

Police and Seattle Fire were called to the scene around 8:40 PM to the reported attempted heist and stabbing. The victim was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to East Precinct radio updates, police believe the suspects were also involved in another attempted car theft earlier in the night.

Police were searching the area but reported no immediate arrests.

UPDATE: Seattle Fire reports that it treated a 44-year-old man for wounds suffered in the assault and he was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

UPDATE x2: SPD has posted a brief on the incident:

The police investigation revealed the man was sitting in his parked car when two suspects approached. One suspect opened the door and stabbed the man while attempting to steal the vehicle. The victim was able to maintain control of the car, and the suspects fled eastbound on foot.

SPD reports the suspects were described as males wearing black masks.

Yikes! Being stabbed, as a survivor myself, is pretty invasive. It’s like “what else is happening to me”
Since knifes are dirty and people use them to do bumps and stuff…
