Man jumped, attacked with skateboard in E Pine assault

A man was assaulted with a skateboard on Capitol HIll this weekend in an incident that left the victim bloodied and robbed of his phone after he was jumped by a group of men early Saturday morning on E Pine.

According to the SPD report on the assault and robbery, the victim said he didn’t know the men who witnesses said chased him down near Boylston and Pine just before 3a Saturday. “Oh, that’s the guy,” one of the suspects shouted as they caught up with the victim, a witness reported. The primary suspect rode his board to catch the victim and immediately began punching him as two other men joined in. The suspect tried to run away but was then struck on the head with the skateboard by the rider.

The victim told police his iPhone was stolen during the assault.

Police say the 33-year-old victim was bleeding heavily from lacerations suffered in the attack and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The suspects were described only as “asian, black and white males.” A witness who said he worked as security at clubs in the area told police he recognized one of the suspects as a man who has been “86’d” from “several of them,” according to the SPD report.
