911 | Thieves make off with safe in Madison Park Starbucks heist

  • Starbucks heist: The Madison Park Starbucks was ripped off in a weekend burglary. Police were called to the popular coffee shop around 1:30 AM Saturday morning to a report of multiple people inside the cafe seen on security video loading something from inside the building into a waiting vehicle. Police arrived to find the shop’s safe missing and the suspect vehicle already gone from the area. Police searched the area but there were no reported arrests.
  • Broadway bicyclist hit: Police and Seattle Fire were called to Broadway at Union last Tuesday night after a driver struck a bicyclist near the intersection around 7 PM. The cyclist suffered reported serious but non-life threatening injuries in the collision and was transported to the hospital. There were no reported arrests.
  • First Hill gun arrest: A young driver who reportedly threatened a crowd with a gun on First Hill at Madison and Boren last Friday night was taken into custody in an arrest SPD says yielded multiple firearms. Police says two teenagers were arrested in the just before midnight incident:
    At 11:43 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a male who pointed a firearm at a crowd standing near the intersection of Boren Avenue and Madison Street. Officers arrived and contacted a 31-year-old male victim who provided a description of the suspect and vehicle. Officers located the vehicle at a nearby gas station and arrested the juvenile male. The juvenile female was a passenger. Officers found two firearms in her possession. A search warrant was granted for the vehicle, and officers located a third firearm.
    The juvenile suspects were booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center.
  • Harvard Market HVAC burglar: A person who broke into Pike and Broadway’s Harvard Market shopping center reportedly ended up in an uncool place during last week’s heat wave. According to police radio, the Tuesday August 15th incident played out just before 9 PM with a report of a man who had climbed up the shopping center’s HVAC system and into vents 30 feet high. Seattle Fire was ultimately not needed at the scene as the suspect exited the system and was taken into custody.
  • Pizza robbery threat: Police were called after a reported pizza robbery attempt reported near Cal Anderson late Thursday night. According to the report, a caller said a man with a baseball bat was threatening to steal their pizza around 11:20 PM. Police were called to the area but we don’t have information about whether the pizza ripoff was successful or if there were any arrests.

The Starbucks in Madison Park has been closed at least for three weeks for renovations so my guess is there was nothing in the safe……
