UW football player accused of two rapes including assault in Capitol Hill apartment

A University of Washington football player has been arrested for raping two women in incidents late last year including an October assault of a Seattle Central College student in her Capitol Hill apartment.

Tybo Tylin Rogers, 18, faces charges of second and third degree rape.

According to police, Rogers met the Seattle Central woman via a dating app and forced himself on her while her roommate’s boyfriend slept in another room. She reported the rape five days later and took a sexual assault exam at Harborview.

Rogers is also accused of raping a UW undergrad at her apartment in early November.

The school was made aware of the Capitol Hill allegation in late November and officials say Rogers was temporarily suspended from team activities before being allowed to play in the Sugar Bowl and National Championship game.

Jail and court records show Rogers was arrested and booked on Friday but released the next day on $300,000 bail.

Temporarily suspended but allowed to play in championship games? Gross. It’s like UW knew Tybo’s behavior was wrong but the priority was winning.
