A man was stabbed in the back in an assault near Cal Anderson Park overnight.

Seattle Police and Seattle Fire were called to the scene just after 2 AM where a 911 caller reported his companion had been stabbed during an assault 20 minutes earlier.

Seattle Fire rendered aid to the victim who was transported to Harborview.

Police were searching for a suspect last seen near the park’s fountain but reported no immediate arrests.
