Picture: Poultry in motion somewhere on streets of Capitol Hill

Perhaps the Cherry Hill Farm coop building party didn’t account for just how wily those chickens are. Gotta think more about security next time. @stevensaysyes shared this picture of urban farming gone rogue today on the streets of Capitol Hill. We’re checking with Steven for the exact location if you are missing your chicken. Or even if you just used to be friends.

Yep it’s from the house to the west with the coop and the dogs always out in the yard. I walked by there and noticed two chickens just kickin’ it outside.

Does anyone know if the chicken got caught? I really hope who ever owns the chicken/s keep the creatures in their own yard! Not everyone likes chickens. If I like loose chickens, I’d live in Arlington or somewhere. Please keep your chickens in your yard!!!!

That belongs to the house in the picture thats behind the Granada on Belmont. I think this is the block of E Howell between Boylston and Belmont. Those people have three chickens that I’ve seen.

I saw this chicken outside someones house, the house next to Redwood yesterday around 4:00, it looked like it could have maybe lived there?

Nice looking Rhode Island Red. I hope that lady finds her way home! Free range Capitol Hill Chickens makes me happy.

I’m pretty certain that’s an Americauna, but I could be wrong.

Rhode Island Red … common as common. Good hearty hen.

Danger is a rogue dog, or getting run over.

Hens likes the bugs at the edge of the lawn and some grass blades, misc. seeds, dead insects, worms, and so forth. Chickens are good scroungers of everything. And eat most anything … google craw … for the anatomy lesson of how they digest about anything with a ball of muscle grinding away.

That chicken is outside most mornings. It has learned to come and go as it pleases. Sometimes I pick it up and put it back in the yard, but when it wants to, it flies up over the fence.

Sigh.

He is very negligent about keeping them secured.
I’m very supportive of chickens in the city EXCEPT when they’re not properly cared for. Don’t get me started on this chicken’s owner.
I won’t be able to stop.

This chicken is one stop away from 10,000 fans and a life of luxury.
