Barbarella-Obama muralist blogs

Want the real scoop on the Barbarella-Obama mural transmogrification? The artist has a blog with details about the reaction she’s received from the neighborhood and what’s she’s learned about the tagger who broke a few rules of the tagger creed.

he is what we refer to as a “toy” and that was a definit toy move…That kid has no can control, he writes for a whack crew that gets no love in seattle and doesnt even existed outside the 206 like the better more prolific crews that have cells here.

I sometimes fantasize that taggers should be executed on the spot, I think the city is crap for treating Shelly like that and by November 5th I will be sick and tired of that wonderful picture of President Obama. Vote.

The city only sends ultimatums like that if someone one complains. And then as far as they are concerned they’re done with it, hence the no feedback. Reactionary…

I would consider not painting over grafitti on my garage if someone could step up and tag something half way interesting. No potential Keith Haring’s in these parts. Don’t give up your Mcday jobs kiddies. Hehe

I was totally disgusted by some punk who went through Cal Anderson plus SCCC and scrawled “FLC” and “Psyko” on buildings, artwork, courts and any other surface they could ruin. Just plain vandalism.

It’s interesting that the woman whose garage door was heavily tagged refers to “street artists.” All forms of graffiti are not art, but vandalism, because it illegally and selfishly defaces public and private property. The victim of this crime had to learn the hard way that “there is no honor among thieves.”

There are alot of people, especially hipsters on Capitol Hill, who condone tagging/graffiti….that is, until they personally get hit, and then they get all disgruntled and upset. Kind of hypocritical, if you ask me…

Hmmm. I’m thinking Shelly’s reaction (the woman with the garage door) is going to be me way more effective at making things better than your reaction, calhoun. Or maybe it’s a draw. But I know you don’t win.

Does anyone know who put up FLC or PSYKO? Has anyone talked to them?
