Permanently ‘going out of business’ E Pike shoe store makes way for new ‘low brow’ gallery

The Pike Fit shoe store was going out of business for a really really long time. Now, its space at 307 E Pike will be filled again with something not going out business. Welcome “low brow” art gallery Ltd. Art Gallery.

“Our gallery is a low-brow pop art gallery that specializes in pop culture inspired artwork from some of the top contemporary artists in Seattle and around the world,” said Ltd.’s James Monosmith.

Monosmith has planned the gallery’s grand opening for later this month:

LTD. ART GALLERY OPENING ITS DOORS IN CAPITOL HILL

POP!  The Art of Pop Culture October 21 – November 21 2011

Ltd. Grand Opening Event:  Friday, October 21st 7-10pm

Ltd. Art Gallery celebrates its grand opening in Capitol Hill with a one of a kind art show event: POP! The Art of Pop Culture.  This show features original artwork inspired by pop culture icons from film, television, books, music, toys, and video games!

Over 30 artists will be represented with a collection of original and limited edition art pieces.

Come embrace your inner geek and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages while we celebrate the opening of Seattle’s newest fine art gallery.

Ltd. Art Gallery is a premier gallery destination for contemporary and pop fine art that specializes in showcasing the talents of top modern artists who draw inspiration from the many icons of pop culture.

Monosmith said the opening will feature a collection of pieces from over 30 artists inspired by various pop culture icons such as Blade Runner, Star Wars, Disney, Voltron, Scott Pilgrim, Transformers, He-Man, Planet of the Apes, breakfast cereal icons and much more.

After that comes a Star Wars show in December.

We’re not sure who will be more excited — low brow art hipsters or copyright lawyers. You can learn more at ltdartgallery.com
