[mappress mapid=”41″]Last month, CHS told you that the project to build a new city park at Federal and Republican had qualified as a finalist for a $750,000 Opportunity Fund grant. Monday night is your chance to show support for Broadway Hill Park:

Broadway Hill Park is the only Capitol Hill open space in the Opportunity funding finals.
The Broadway Hill Park has jumped thru a season of hoops to make it to the final plea for 2012/13 Seattle Park & Rec Opportunity Funds.  Their presentation at the January review persuaded the Parks Dept committee to elevate their “points” tipping them up to the final review status.

Here is the list of projects vying for fundshttp://www.seattle.gov/parks/levy/opportunity/levy_oversight_committee_draft_recommendation_2013-03-18.pdf

THE BIG FINAL PLEA is tomorrow night – Monday 6pm – 9pm at MILLER COMMUNITY CENTER. The committee will hear from all of the finalists.

THESE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS from the Broadway Hill Park committee to the neighborhood:

Help us receive $750,000 from the Seattle Parks Opportunity Fund!

Support BROADWAY HILL [park] by attending this meeting:
April 22nd, 6pm – 9pm @ Miller Community Center
(19th & E Thomas St)

Please WEAR RED to this meeting so supporters of this project are easily visible to the committee.

A strong showing of support for this project is critical in ensuring that Broadway Hill Park is selected to receive the Opportunity Fund award.

Everyone, THIS IS IT! This will be the LAST meeting you will hopefully EVER have to attend for fundraising purposes for our park! All we have to do is maintain our spot on the Opportunity Fund draft list – a strong show of community support will do exactly that, so PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO COME TONIGHT and bring friends.

$750,000 are AT STAKE. If we lose our spot on the Opportunity Fund, we’ll have to fundraise 3/4 of a million dollars if we want our park built.

I have been so impressed with the community support for Broadway Hill Park and extremely thankful for all of the work neighbors have done to get us to this point. I’m looking forward to showing support for the park tonight!
