The Lobby Bar set to open on Pike tonight

Just got word from co-owner Peter Villa — The Lobby Bar will open for business tonight at 5. Villa said he received the Lobby’s occupancy permit only minutes ago.

We previewed the new E. Pike watering hole in November but agreed not to show what the interior was going to look like. Happy to be able to share these first glimpses sent by Villa. Here’s how Curtis Bigelow, the other partner in Lobby, described the project to us in November:

Bigelow says he and Paul Villa hope to create a space for members of the LGBT community who are interested in getting a good, reasonably priced drink in an comfortable, inviting environment — and the people that love them.

The location at 918 E. Pike is the former home of King Cobra. Villa and Bigelow leased half of the building that used to house the club. The other half, strangely enough, is slated to become a Money Tree lending outlet.
