Odd Duck rent check is in the mail as Capitol Hill theater hits fundraising goal

The only problem now is getting the online system used to collect the donations to issue a check — but Odd Duck Studio says it has hit its emergency fundraising goal of $2,075 thanks to donations from 17 generous givers. Last week, CHS reported on rent issues for Odd Duck and at long-time Hill restaurant, Rosebud.

Monday morning, Odd Duck announced the goal had been hit — but now they need to wait 5 to 14 days to receive payment. Drama!

One giver who dropped $25 in the can for Odd Duck said:

This is a fantastic performance space and it is vital to so many artists in Seattle! The Odd Duck has helped us, so lets return the favor!

In the meantime, we’re hoping to hear back from someone from Rosebud to learn more about their status.

How the hell have I missed this place during my tenure on the hill? Geez man, I would love to go to a stand up night and/or see an improv troupe once a week.

Website? Also, please please say they have a lot of comedy acts coming through.
