The Bat ‘n’ Rouge Dykes vs. Drag Queens fundraiser returned to Cal Anderson’s Bobby Morris playfield Saturday with a full roster of new beneficiaries.
In 2012, the nonprofit behind the more-than-a-decade-old event,the Capitol Hill Alano Club, dissolved. The 2013 game raised spirits — and much needed funds — for the Seattle Area Support Groups coalition of organizations. You can learn more about the services at sasgcc.org.
We don’t have results of Saturday’s match but the early tallies indicate it was a rather low scoring affair — at least on the field. Meanwhile, everyone from mayoral hopefuls to the boys in blue grabbed a bat and a ball and joined the action as the usual low-integrity bribes and related shenanigans helped shape the epic contest.

It’s always so amazing to me how threatened people are by someone else’s sexuality. Here’s what I saw in the pictures: People having fun, being playful, and enjoying themselves, all for a good cause. How is this bad? Who is being hurt by this?
