Hillebrity | Wylie Bush

 Wylie Bush — Cafe Owner

IMG_2393What are the biggest differences of first opening Joe Bar to being a seasoned business owner after many years?

Joe Bar has been in existence since 1997. Cell phones were rare, laptops even more so, no one had wifi and cash was king. NASA hadn’t even landed a rover on Mars yet! I guess Joe Bar is old enough now to reminisce about simpler times. One thing that hasn’t changed is the underlying character of the neighborhood and the importance of community that permeates it. This doesn’t answer your question but it is the part of owning Joe Bar that makes me the happiest.

Joe Bar is located at 810 E Roy St.

  1. “One thing that hasn’t changed is the underlying character of the neighborhood and the importance of community that permeates it.” Great quote, great bio – nice work Timothy!

  2. Joe Bar is a treasure. I almost don’t want to attract attention to it. As high rents and shitty chains gobble up the rest of the Hill, Joe Bar is one the few vestiges of community, integrity, and character left. The staff is amazing, the food is great, plus they have awesome wine and beer – like Blanche De Bruxelles. You should go.
