  • Howell/Belmont street robbery: The weekend brought a second reported armed robbery on Capitol Hill in an incident near E Howell and Belmont early Saturday morning. Police say the victims were walking in the area just after midnight when they were held up by three male suspects with handguns:
One of the suspects grabbed a victim’s arm and said, “give me all of your shit or we’re gonna start shooting.” Another suspect turned the victims around to show that the group of bandits were all armed, then said, “we’re not kidding.”
SPD says the victims handed over everything they had including cellphones to the suspects who fled in a silver or grey sedan. SPD’s attempt to track a victim’s phone were unsuccessful. There were no reported serious injuries and no arrests. CHS reported on another weekend hold-up early on Friday morning on Broadway where a man reported being robbed at gunpoint after withdrawing $200 cash from an ATM.
  • Saturday gunfire: Early Saturday also brought a report of shots fired near 10th and E Mercer. SPD says it responded to a call about the gunfire around 2:15 AM but did not locate evidence of a shooting. Called back later that morning, police reported finding shell casings and a victim reported that her bedroom window was damaged, and she located a bullet on her bedroom floor. The woman did not believe she had been targeted by the gunfire, SPD says.
  • Sunday shooting: One person was shot in the leg in an exchange of gunfire involving at least two dozen shots early Sunday morning near the gas station at Broadway and Pike. There were no immediate arrests.
  • Plane patrols: Overnight reports of low flying aircraft over the Capitol Hill and Central District area continue after the Washington State Patrol said last month it was using the reconnaissance to identify suspects in an ongoing string of people throwing rocks and debris onto area freeways. Early Saturday morning, a male suspect was arrested above I-90 in the Central District after a caller reported seeing the suspect hit a semi that had passed by with a rock just before 4 AM. Flights have continued including this flight early Tuesday by a special Pierce County Sheriff’s plan procured through a Homeland Security Grant and outfitted with technology including “Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) camera, satellite street-overlay mapping system, video recorder and real-time video down-link capabilities.” Pierce County says its aircraft is used to assist “local, state, and federal agencies with Search and Rescue (SAR) missions, counter drug efforts, radio communications support, surveillance, aerial photograph, patrol operations and other requests for assistance by various governmental agencies.”

Just clear the encampments up there and I’d bet the rock throwing magically stops…

While you’re at it, let’s clear all the tech businesses so people making less than 150k can afford to be alive.

You do realize you are blaming the wrong people here right? It’s not the tech company’s fault that seattle land use is so fucked up that not enough housing can be built.
