Multiple residences were hit and several vehicles were reported damaged after a bout of gunfire just after midnight around the Miller Community Center parking lot.
Police were called to the area near 20th and Republican around 12:20 AM Saturday after several 911 callers reported gunfire and calls started coming in from nearby residents reporting bullet damage to homes and apartment buildings in the area.
Witnesses reported cars speeding from the Miller parking lot as the gunfire broke out and one possible drive-by shooter sped from the scene.
No victims were found at the shooting scene and there were no injuries reported in the houses or parked vehicles that were hit. Bullets also damaged a nearby apartment building.
Seattle Police stationed officers at Harborview to wait for any possible victims to arrive but none were reported.
The shooting comes amid a wave of summer gun violence in the city including last weekend’s shooting at Broadway and Pike that left a 20-year-old woman dead.

Again and again and again and again. Election now. Vote! Vote wisely people.
Vote for Bobby Goodwin if you are tired of this crap.
Already did.
Whoah, thatโs way too close to home. I go there a lot and itโs just on the edge of being dangerous, you see sketchy looking people around the basketball court and hanging out by the generators near the north parking lot, but this tips the scale into crazy.
I play basketball there weekly. Not sure what you mean. What specifically are people doing? or maybe I am one of the sketchy people?
Seattle is beginning to feel downright unsafe. It’s depressing and I feel angry with those who are perpetrating this violence in the city that I (used to) love.
So tired of the turf battles and idiots who donโt even live here coming to wreak havoc
This sort of thing wouldn’t be happening here if there wasn’t a parking lot. Gun violence in the city often involves automobiles, i.e. all of the issues around Garfield High School. Removing parking lots like this from the city would likely help the issue, at least somewhat.
I agree! Especially with all the empty lots. We also could use more community focused events to prevent crime. I’ve lived here most of my life and as the city grows, we see less and less community engagement. This is likely due to lack of community spaces.
The parking lots are intended for the schools nearby. They are quite busy and often full during the day when kids are being picked up and dropped off, and when teachers/other school employees are there doing their jobs. Where are you going to tell parents to go instead? There is no ADA street parking anywhere else. Good luck removing parking lots!
High schoolers can walk, ride bikes, take public trans. High schools should be built for people, not for cars.
Yes, this gun violence is caused byโฆ.cars? Or the parking of carsโฆin lots? What a stretch that is. Gun violence is caused by idiots with guns, most of whom are likely involved in other illegal activities, such as selling drugs in our wonderful neighborhood. But blame it parking lots. Or cars. Whatever.
Idiots with guns who drive in from out of town. Transit is full of cameras everywhere so it would be much easier to ID the perp if they were bussing. Also, impossible to do a drive-by which was speculated to have been part of the gunfire at miller park
