Police found shell casings strewn in a parking lot and were looking for the man reported to have fired them in a bout of gunfire Tuesday night near Broadway and Pine.
Multiple 911 callers reported the shots fired just after 9 PM and police found more witnesses as officers arrived at the scene in the parking lot in the 1500 block of Broadway lined by Capitol Hill Tobacco and the Spice Box restaurant.
According to East Precinct radio updates, witnesses reported a man had opened fire in the parking lot before fleeing on foot southbound.
There were no reported injuries. An arriving officer reported shell casings on the ground but did not indicate if there was any property damage at the scene.
There were no immediate arrests reported.
The parking lot where the incident occurred is planned to eventually make way for this redevelopment project to create a new YouthCare Academy and affordable housing on the site. A portion of the lot has also been put to use as secured parking for crews working on the construction of LGBTQ-affirming affordable senior housing developmentΒ Pride Place which opened to new residents across the street in recent weeks.
